🏆 About the Competition
The National Spelling Bee Championship is Nigeria's premier academic competition, bringing together the brightest young minds from across the country.
Competition Format:
- Preliminary Round: Written test for all participants
- Quarter-Finals: Top 32 schools compete in oral rounds
- Semi-Finals: Top 8 schools advance to live competition
- Grand Final: Live broadcast championship round
Key Dates:
- Registration Deadline: September 30, 2025
- Preliminary Round: December 8, 2024
- Semi-Finals & Final: March 1, 2026
📋 Rules & Guidelines
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a registered secondary school in Nigeria
- Students must be between ages 13-18
- Maximum 5 students per school team
- Minimum 3 students per school team
Competition Rules:
- No electronic devices allowed during competition
- Time limit: 30 seconds per word
- Students may ask for word definition and origin
- Spelling must be clear and audible
- Judges' decisions are final
Required Documents:
- School registration certificate
- Student birth certificates or age verification
- Signed consent forms from parents/guardians
- School endorsement letter

- The organizing foundation is not liable for travel expenses
- Schools are responsible for student supervision
