RACE TO THE FINAL: 2023 Spelling Bee Competition

The Omafuru Foundation Spelling Bee is a two-round contest that has proven to be a very popular and fun activity for students in Delta State as it helps them develop their vocabulary, as well as improve their reading, comprehension, research, reasoning and public speaking skills.

Participation is absolutely free and requires no financial commitment from the contestants or the schools they represent.

Timeline of events for the Spelling Bee Competition is as follows:

Deadline for expression of interest to participate              –          6^th December, 2022

·         Each school is required to fill and submit this form to Omafuru Foundation’s office at DSC Shopping Mall, Steel Town I, Orhuwhorun.

Qualification Rounds (Inter-School Spelling Bee)            –          13^th January – 3^rd February, 2023

·         Participating schools are to send TWO representatives. The top four schools from previous editions of this competition will be seeded in four different groups while other participating schools will be categorized randomly within these four groups in a transparent draw system. The top school from each group will progress to the final.

Grand Finale                                                                         –          10^th February, 2023

·         Winners of the Qualification Rounds battle for the top prize
