Invitation to Participate in Omafuru Foundation 9th Annual Essay Writing Competition in Commemoration with World Environment Day 2025. The Omafuru Foundation, a non-governmental and non-profit organization committed to fostering academic excellence, creativity, and environmental sustainability among young learners, is pleased to announce its 9th Annual Essay Writing Competition for junior secondary school students in celebration of World Environment Day 2025. Essay Topic: Tech-Driven Solutions for Tracking and Managing Plastic Waste in Delta State Eligibility: Open to all junior secondary school students in Delta State, Nigeria. All participants must represent a school; individual entries without school affiliation will not be accepted. Prizes:  1st Prize: ₦200,000 + Trophy for the winner’s school  2nd Prize: ₦150,000  3rd Prize: ₦100,000 Entry Guidelines 1. Essays must be original and not exceed 1,000 words. 2. Entries will be judged based on creativity, clarity, originality, and relevance to the topic. 3. Only one entry per student. Multiple entries will lead to automatic disqualification. 4. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Sources must be properly referenced. 5. There is NO entry fee. 6. Schools can submit multiple entries; however, each student is allowed only one submission. 7. Submissions can be made either in electronic or handwritten form. 8. Handwritten Submissions: • Must be written on foolscap/ruled A4 sheets or typed. • Each entry must clearly state the student's full name and the name of their school. • Submit at Omafuru Foundation branch office at DSC Shopping Mall, Steel Town 1, Orhuwhorun. 9. Electronic Submissions: • Must be typed and submitted via the online portal. 10. Submission Deadline: • Handwritten entries: by 5:00 PM on Friday, May 30, 2025. • Electronic entries: by 11:59 PM on Friday, May 30, 2025. 11. Winners will be announced on the Omafuru Foundation website and social media handles in June 2025. 12. The decisions of the judging panel are final and binding. 13. By submitting an entry, participants agree to the competition’s terms and grant Omafuru Foundation the right to publish their essays. Online submission a) Visit https://omafurufoundation.org/competitions. b) Click “Register and Apply” to begin. c) Fill in your personal and school details. d) On the next page, enter each student’s name, class, and paste the essay in the provided box. e) For multiple students, click “Add New Entry” after each submission. f) Once all entries are added, click “Submit” to finalize. g) You will be redirected to a dashboard and receive login details via email or WhatsApp, which can be used to manage your entries later. Optional Manual Submission: Schools may also submit entries to our office. Login credentials for managing entries will be sent via WhatsApp after verification.
